Is a common thing we hear outside the Boobook aviary! But you won’t believe what you’re about to read

Our Boobooks are currently in their breeding season and after successfully breeding 2 years ago and hatching out 2 babies! They have been back at it this year, to much excitement to all the staff at WILD. Our pair have laid 4 eggs! Yes 4!! You heard right.

Owls typically only lay 2 to 3 eggs so aren’t we lucky.

After today’s examinations these 4 eggs are also fertile  which means it’s the highest number of animals in that enclosure… some would say.

We will leave the parents with the eggs and wait to see if they hatch. So if you don’t see anything it’s because mum and dad are in their nestbox keeping their eggs warm right until the perfect moment!

We will of course keep you updated on their journey
