World Environment Day 2025
Theme: Ending Plastic Pollution
Plastic pollution is now found everywhere — from the Mariana Trench to Mount Everest, in our soil, water, food, and even inside our bodies as microplastics. It’s harming wildlife, disrupting ecosystems, and threatening our health.
In 2025, the world could consume over 516 million tonnes of plastic.
Only 9% of plastic is successfully recycled. The rest? It leaks into oceans, litters land, and enters our food chain.
That’s why this year’s World Environment Day is more urgent than ever.
At Wild Zoological Park, we’re taking action:
Our gift shop is going plastic-free – replacing single-use items with eco-friendly, sustainable alternatives.
We’re also committed to educating visitors, reducing on-site plastic waste, and supporting global conservation efforts that protect biodiversity from the impact of plastic.
This year’s Environment Day also marks a turning point, as nations gear up to negotiate a global treaty to end plastic pollution.
Now is the time to act.
Here’s how you can help:
- Say no to single-use plastics
- Support sustainable businesses
- Advocate for systemic change
- Educate others
- Join local and global conservation efforts
We’re all part of this planet — and part of the solution.
Join us and be a voice for nature.
