JNR Keeper Day! - 25th January 2025 (WILD! Explorers Society) - PART 1

JNR Zookeeper Day ! 

Do you know a young aspiring zoo keeper? The WILD! Explorers Society experience offers young people aged 7-13 years old the chance to spend a day learning about a range of species and what it takes to be a zookeeper for our wonderfully unique animals from cleaning and feeding to habitat design and enrichment making workshop. 

Price includes the experience itself, a packed lunch prepared by the chefs of Halfpenny Estate. A Wild zoological park WILD! Explorers Society keeper T-shirt and a zoo keeper lanyard. The experience begins at 10am and finishes at 3pm. 

In a small group, you will arrive at the zoo for an induction with course leader Keeper Ben and the rest of our team of expert zoo keepers. 

Once kitted up, you're ready to join the team! 

During Part 1, visit each animal section to get a taster of what it's like to look after our animals. You'll be cleaning, feeding, and designing educational animal talks. Ask our experts everything you've ever wanted to know about zookeeping! This is a hands on interactive experience including animal interactions, craft, talks and demonstrations will encompass the WILD! Curriculum, centred around 4 pillars: Discovery, Collaboration, Inner Strength and Responsibility. 

After completion of Part 1 and Part 2 you will have exclusive access to WILD discounts, the WILD Explorer Society Members page and so much more. 

Children do not to be accompanied by an adult. All our staff are DBS certified. Participants can be dropped at the zoo at 10am and picked up at 3pm.
