Owls are amazing birds! This bespoke experience gives all owl lovers the wonderful chance to experience our resident owls up close and personal.
Your session will include meeting and flying a range of owl species, from some of smallest to the largest. The exact species you meet and fly on your experience session will vary but may include a barn owl, snowy owl, burrowing owl, great grey owl, white faced owl or eagle-owls.
We offer both adult owl experiences and children’s owl experiences.
Experience lasts approximately 1 hour. Allow 1.5 hours for your experience. The experience is available to book during afternoons from October to April.
Adult session guests must be 16 and above.
Children’s owl sessions guests must be 5 and above. An adult guest must supervise children on the experience (1 adult included) but additional spectators will only need a standard admission ticket to accompany.
There is no limit to spectators for both adult and children’s experiences but spectators will require standard admission tickets.
This experience must be pre-booked. Due to the popularity of this experience, early booking is required. Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase; an expiry date is shown inside your gift card. Please note your experience must be booked and fulfilled before the expiry date shown.

What should I wear?
We have a natural countryside setting: sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for outdoors are recommended. Please avoid wearing brightly coloured clothing. Most walkways are laid paths; however you may find some natural unevenness within our grounds.
Do I need any special equipment?
All necessary training and equipment are supplied.
Can I take photos during my experience?
Yes! We are more than happy for you to take photographs as a memento of your day, and our staff at the experience session will be on hand to take pictures of you with the birds if you wish.
Will an adult need to join the experience for children.
An adult is required (admission for one is included to accompany the child booked on the children's experience, but only the child booked on the experience can participate in the session).
Will my experience still go ahead in bad weather?
If severe weather threatens, the zoo may cancel and rearrange your experience by 2pm the day before it is due to take place.

This is not an intensive course to teach people how to practice falconry or keep birds of prey but a relaxed day, set at the pace of the guest, to learn about and handle our birds, and to have an intimate insight into the work Wild Zoological Park falconers and bird trainers.
Experiences are available as gift vouchers that are valid for 12 months, allowing the recipient to choose when they wish to attend from a selection of dates. Please note your experience must be booked and fulfilled before the expiry date shown. Once the voucher has expired, the experience and any related monies are forfeited.
Guests must be aged 5 to 15 for the children’s experience and 16+ for the adult experience.
This experience must be pre-booked.
Due to the popularity of this experience, early booking is strongly recommended.
